AI and Machine Learning
In this 6-week programme, students will be introduced to the amazing world of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). These technologies are changing the world, and this course is designed to make it easy for students to understand and get involved, no matter their experience level.
Throughout the course, students will use fun, hands-on activities to explore how AI works in real life:
- Computer Vision and Image Recognition: Students will teach AI how to “see” by helping it recognise and sort images. For example, they might train a computer to tell the difference between types of animals or to recognise everyday objects like cars or bikes. This is similar to the technology behind things like facial recognition or self-driving cars.
- Sound Recognition: Students will learn how AI can “hear” by getting it to recognise different sounds. They could teach a model to identify animal noises, music types, or even spoken words. It’s a fun way to see how computers can make sense of sound.
- Text Sentiment Analysis: Using AI, students will look at how computers can “read” and understand the feelings in text. For example, they might train an AI to analyse social media comments and decide if they are positive, neutral, or negative. This helps AI understand human emotions through written words.
- Supervised Learning and Predictions: Students will learn how AI can make predictions by finding patterns in data. For example, they might create models to predict sports results or forecast weather patterns. This shows how AI can use what it has learned to make smart guesses about future outcomes.
By the end of the programme, students will have built their own AI projects and gained a solid understanding of how these technologies are used in everyday life—from recognising images and sounds to making predictions and understanding text.
This programme offers a fantastic chance for your child to get involved in the future of technology and build valuable skills, all in a fun and supportive environment.
